Unfortunately, there is currently no jailbreak available for firmware version 4.2.5 on iPhone 4 (CDMA) devices. However, this device can update to 7.1.2 and jailbreak with a method not currently present on the guide.

Due to the age of this iOS version, you will need to use iTunes or similar to manually update the device to iOS 7.1.2, as updating on the device was not a thing at the time of iOS 4.2.5.

Updating to 7.1.2 using iTunes/Finder

  2. On iTunes or Finder, locate your device and select General or Settings.
  3. Select Check for Update.
  4. Select Download and Update
    • Ensure that the version you are updating to is iOS 7.1.2
