Installing Aquila

For support in English, ask for help on the r/Jailbreak Discord Server.

Aquila is capable of jailbreaking all 32-bit iOS devices on firmware versions 4.3 to 7.1.2.

Aquila is an untethered jailbreak, meaning it only requires the exploit to be run once, whether through a website, an app, or a computer.

In order to use Aquila, you will need a computer with 64-bit Windows or macOS.

TIP

If you are using a 32-bit iOS device running iOS 7.1 to 7.1.2, you should follow Using Lyncis instead.

Additionally, if you are using an iPad 2 running iOS 4.3.3, or any other device running iOS 4.3 to 4.3.3, you should follow Using JailbreakMe Saffron instead.

WARNING

If you are using an iOS 7 device and have just restored the device, reboot once prior to continuing, or you may run into issues.

Installing Aquila

TIP

On macOS, extract the zip file before proceeding with this guide.

WARNING

If you are using an iOS 7 device, make sure the device has been on for at least two minutes before proceeding.

This does not apply to iOS 4.3 to 6.1.6.

  1. Plug your device into your computer
  2. Run Aquila to start the jailbreaking process:
    • Windows: Double-click aquila_windows
    • macOS: Double-click aquila

Aquila will now begin to jailbreak your device.

Once Aquila says that is Done and reboots the device, you should be jailbroken with Cydia installed on your home screen. You can use Cydia to install tweaks, themes and more.
